‘MAOIST’ POSTER FOUND IN SUKTEL PROJECT OFFICE

A poster claimed to
be slapped by Maoists were found at the Lower Suktel Irrigation Project
Division office here. The poster was allegedly pasted by the Balangir-Bargarh-
Mahasumund Divisional Committee of the CPI(Maoist).
The poster warned the authorities to pay compensation
first to the displaced people in Lower Suktel Irrigation Project area and then
take up the project for implementation.
“We have seized the poster and verified it. It is a fake
poster and it appears to be handiwork of the local miscreants,” said Balangir
SP R Prakash to this correspondent. Meanwhile, normal life in Khaprakhol town
was affected on Monday following a Bandh call by the Maoists protesting against
the alleged police excesses in different villages of Balangir district
and in the Padampur area of Bargarh district. Shops and other business
establishments remained closed and buses were off the roads.
