World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought 2017observed in Bolangir ;By Sudhir Mishra/Bolangir

Honorary Wildlife Warden  Bolangir, Sri Sudhir Kumar Mishra speaking at the meeting organised by Bolangir Forest Division on the occasion of World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought at Bolangir on 17thJune2017.

Among others Divisional ForestOfficer(DFO)Bolangir RashmiRanjanNaik, ACF,NKJaisingh, BolangirRange officer BCRoul,adv Gopal Hota spoke on different aspect of drought.

 In his  speech,Honorary Wildlife Warden  Bolangir, Sri Sudhir Kumar Mishra stressed the need to combat desertification and drought by conservation  of rainwater in Traditional water harvesting structures like Muda,,Kata,pond etc  by renovating them; optimum utilization of water resources;taking steps to check the soil erosion ,planting of more tress and conservation of forest and adopting traditional farming/cultivation practice which requires almost no amount of chemical fertilizer and insecticide and adopting Eco-friendly practice in farming and other spheres of lives.

Divisional Forest Officer Bolangir, RashmiRanjanNaik also stressed the need for Conservation of  Forest,Checking the problem of soil erosion,plantation  of more trees and taking care for their  survival,Conservation of rainwater , optimum utilization of water in daily life to avoid wastage of water  and  to make our Earth free from the problem of Polythene.


The meeting was attended by forest guards of different beat  and Foresters of Bolangir forest Range. The VanaSurakshya Samiti(VSS) members of nearby village forest, attended the sensitization  meeting also  shared their view points on this issue too.
