In a bid to tackle the problem of forest fire, a sensitisation camp for foresters, forest guards and firefighting squads was held on the outskirts of Balangir Town on Saturday.
Fire officer AK swain explained the participants on how to tackle forest fire and fire in urban areas. He also stressed on various preventive measures to check the problem effectively. The Balangir district Wildlife Warden stressed on the need for identification of fire prone forest areas and villages and available equipments to tackle forest fire.  He also stressed on the need for supplying modern equipment to fire fighting squads at village level and to forest officials.
“We are taking steps to identify fire prone villages and sensitizing fire fighting squads at village level,” said Bolangir Forest Range Officer BC Raul.
